The Special Olympics dancers themselves have been learning to dance since September 2007. They are partnered with their Unified dance partners with whom they are going to be dancing in this competition.

Unified dance partners are individuals who already know how to dance and they are training with Special Olympics athletes who do not know how to dance. Special Olympics has found that this is a much faster method of training for Special Olympics athletes and our particular sport is perfect for this approach since it takes two to dance ballroom.
